I may have to get a couple of trolls, one for home and one for my glove compartment while driving.
I especially liked what you said about how you felt others would view a mobility device even though you never looked at them negatively. So glad you had a good experience and now….full speed ahead!
Once again, hit us with some good reminders about what’s important in life.
LOL! I hope you enjoy having a couple new little friends to look out for you in your home and car. (Those trolls were hot stuff when I was a kid. And the bugs and monsters made the perfect steeds for the trolls.) Yes, full speed ahead! If you see a scooter heading down 405 in the fast lane, that will be me. Thank you, my friend!
Awesome account of dolls in our adult lives. Even the simplest form of dolls can be significant. We have a gnome on our shelf just above our computer that makes sure our aura is as positive as it can be.
LOL! I love that! It’s always good to have an extra little someone looking out for you. (And that gnome also probably helps keep the typos down, too.) I just now thought of this, but the Orca (and formerly the alligator) we keep in the pool is kind of a protector doll, come to think of it. They’ve watched over the backyard and kept the pool free of piranhas!
Thanks, Susan. I love those “Dam Dolls!” Isn’t it wonderful how you can change your outlook on stuff (and your day) just by upside-downing your thinking? When I got on the scooter and was able to shake off how I was supposed to feel (feeble and broken down) and replace it with how I was actually feeling (pretty dang groovy rocketing around at 7mph) everything took a pretty sunny turn. Thanks for your comment!
My partner's mom had a scooter until things got so bad she couldn't even operate it. But we would take her all over. She loved the theme parks so we went there often.
Later, my partner got to a point where she just couldn't take the pain anymore and was finally able to find a doctor that would replace her knees. Thankfully he was so good he only saw a need for partial replacements. Sadly he's no longer around but that's another story. You've always been a 'do-er" so I'm not surprised that you do what you can to stay mobile. Enjoy your adventures and keep that little doll happy too !!
Hey, thanks, BJ. That's great about your partner's partial knee replacements... I hope she is doing the two-step with the best of 'em! Since Tortilla Flat, I've almost completely turned around my thinking about scooters. In fact, I almost feel sorry for folks who don't have the fun of getting to use them!
Thanks, Marlene! I'm glad you liked it. (I don't think I mentioned it in the article, but I've decided to name the scooter Secretariat. Tooling around on it is kind of a blast!)

So inspiring! And I loved the Troll Dolls too (we called them Dam Dolls, reveling in saying "Damn")
<3
Good for deciding to live well and fully, despite the body's hiccups!
